If you still don’t understand how Sasuke and Sakura had a daughter in the first place, check out 10 of the most obvious inconsistencies that crumble the logic of this union to smithereens
Surprisingly, after a thousand episodes of “Naruto” a little later, already in “Boruto”, Sakura and Sasuke did get married, and what’s more, they even had a daughter Sarada. How it happened, when they got married and what was in their heads at that moment is a mystery, covered by the fog of mangaka, because there are things that they just skipped and did not explain.
It seems to be expected, because Sakura literally did everything to be with Sasuke. But it’s hard to even call their marriage a marriage, and if you remember the whole backstory, you realize that these two probably shouldn’t have been together in the first place. Here are at least 10 reasons why Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship didn’t work out in the eyes of fans, even after their marriage.
Sakura was fixated on praising Sasuke
Of course, to some extent, it was her desire to be on the same level with the team that made Sakura successful and became a ninja medic. Still, during her academy days, her obsession with Sasuke’s attentions didn’t piss off only the most loyal fans. Her fake (at first) kindness to Naruto and long hair were just the smallest imposed standards that Sakura imitated for the sake of Sasuke’s respect. Well that sort of thing
Sasuke has always stiffly rejected attention from female fans
Let’s face it, Sasuke has never been spoiled by the attention of the opposite sex. And although he has not shown adequate sympathy for anyone, still it can not be said that his actions towards Sakura were special. Yes, yes, there are a couple of cute moments, but does that stretch to then skimping the plot straight to their marriage? I don’t think so
Sakura dumped her first best friend for Sasuke
If you remember the story of Sakura and Ino’s childhood, then you don’t need to be reminded that it was Sasuke who became the rock in their friendship. Of course, it was the girls’ own fault for fighting over an indifferent but promising boy. Objectively, they shouldn’t have started a war over a guy they didn’t even know at all
No physical contact, dating or writing
Even though Sakura and Sasuke are married (fantastic, honestly), their display of affection is still limited to forehead poking and oblique half hugs. Sure, it’s not inconsistent with Sasuke’s character, but was it really worth it to start a family if you’re even visiting your annoying Hokage friend more often. Is it worth remembering their two-minute date? No, really, how did it get to Sarada?
Sakura continued to love Sasuke even when he was against them
Despite her obsession with wanting to be with Sasuke, Sakura still decided to dedicate her life to duty and become a great ninja medic. However, she still asked Sasuke to take her with him, even when his focus was against his own friends. Her feelings were completely overshadowed by her beliefs, which certainly doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship. Loyalty is a good thing, but Sasuke’s continued indifference to her only made everyone sympathize at the screens
Sasuke tried to kill Sakura
It’s not just a red flag… It’s a huge scarlet banner that was literally meant to cross out any possibility of their future relationship. In the pursuit of revenge, Sasuke had given up any happiness and cared about nothing but retribution. Eh, she should have dropped the idea of being with him much sooner so that his hand wouldn’t be elbow-deep in her breast
Sasuke showed no sympathy for Sakura for years (and not much has changed since then)
You yourself are the biggest witness to how stingy Sasuke was about showing his feelings for Sakura. Lucky if he just didn’t notice them. It’s worse when he fought back. Still, you have to have some minimal contact with your lover to develop a relationship, right? And we’re all still getting butterflies in our stomachs just from the moment when Sasuke managed to break through the portal to Obito and catch Sakura. Yeah, he should learn the ninjutsu of flirting.
Their marriage is a long distance relationship
Apparently, the creators didn’t want to show the illogical idyll of Sakura and Sasuke’s marriage, but what came out looks even stranger. Not only did they get married after all, they even had a daughter. And yet, it wasn’t enough for Sasuke to become a full member of his own family. He doesn’t share his plans with Sakura, doesn’t see Sarada, and doesn’t take part in their lives at all. How’s that?
Sarada questioned who her biological mother was
It’s especially heartbreaking that his inner strength wasn’t even enough to build a healthy relationship with his daughter and raise her from a young age. His negligence and aloofness led to the fact that the first time he saw Sarada was only when she came to find out who her real mom was. That sounds like future childhood trauma. He had a rough childhood himself, and he could have thought about his own child.
Sasuke makes decisions without consulting his family
As you’ve already realized, Sasuke doesn’t care about his wife and child’s plans, and certainly won’t initiate them into his own. Sakura patiently endures her husband’s constant absence, for what else can she do. Yes, she could leave, but we all realize that the story isn’t going to change anymore. Doesn’t exactly sound like an equal happy marriage, does it?
