Space lover and Ben Affleck’s partner: Matt Damon’s best movies

Matt Damon is one of Hollywood’s gems who is rarely ranked with the big legends (and for nothing!). We share the coolest works of his filmography from The Martian to Ford vs. Ferrari

Matt Damon is always on the radar: he perfectly reincarnates for the main roles in action and biographical films, and also perfectly complements the main cast as a supporting actor. The actor can safely be called a nugget, because the family, which broke up in childhood, did not support his passion for show business, so young Matt had to rake his way into Hollywood on his own.

Well, almost. In fact, since childhood he had a loyal friend and in the future a reliable colleague – Ben Affleck. Both together promoted the movie “Good Will Hunting” and even won an Oscar for it, thereby knocking up in the industry. What other works can Matt boast of and what with him is definitely worth watching? Take your pick and plan a movie night .

Good Will Hunting

Will Hunting, a young genius from Boston, is always looking for adventure, but one day, after an unsuccessful fight, he is arrested by the police. Then a math professor vouches for him, but only on the condition that the guy must regularly go to a therapist. As a result, Will has to go from complete disdain for the soul digger to acceptance and even friendship with his new mentor.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

In the younger years of his career, Matt was perfectly able to play charming bullies, and the role of Tom Ripley was no exception. An influential man decides to take advantage of the cunning young man and promises fabulous money, only if he would bring his son from Italy back to the United States. However, he fails to persuade the fugitive in a good way, and the heir’s life seems too attractive… so he decides to change the terms of the deal.

Ocean’s Eleven

Who hasn’t watched this legend yet? If suddenly you are among them, then briefly about the plot: 24 hours after serving time, the famous thief Danny Ocean with a “good” reputation prepares the largest casino robbery in history. To rob the Las Vegas hot spot, he assembles a team of eleven pros in different fields. Together the team decides to bet everything on this heist of the century, but will they succeed?

The Bourne Identity

A mysterious stranger with bullet wounds and a suspicious Swiss Bank account chip in his hip is caught in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Upon awakening, he remembers nothing, but he can speak different languages and has superpowers. At the bank he learns his identity and that he is actually being chased by an assassin.

The Unconquered

The movie focuses on the story of Nelson Mandela during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. As president he tried to reduce the divisions between blacks and whites, and what better way than to motivate the population to support the “white” Springboks rugby team representing South Africa. Matt here played the Afrikaner captain of the very team that wants to rally the people again.

We bought a zoo

It seems as if Matt doesn’t have many romantic movies (and he does, but there are still some). Here in the story, a family decides to invest in an abandoned rural menagerie to turn it into a large zoo. Saving the animals when you yourself are on the verge of bankruptcy is not easy. But love for our companions and support for each other works wonders! A very kind heartfelt movie for family viewing.

Changing Reality

Sci-fi movies with conspiracy theory are in trend not only now, but became a formula for success back in the tens. The story shows us the insight of Congressman David Norris, who abruptly realizes that everything in the world is happening according to the script of some Bureau of Adjustment. But there’s a problem: their plans don’t include David’s affair with his beloved Eliza… Now he’ll have to change their minds to save their love and, if he can, the whole world.

Interstellar

Matt has a special fondness for movies somehow connected with space, and “Interstellar” was a big step forward to universal plots. Here Nolan showed us one of possible variants of development of our civilization, when the planet will begin to die, and people – to look for a new home. A small team goes into space to look for a planet suitable for resettlement, but the journey may take decades or turn out to be irretrievable.

The Martian

Matt seemed to like the spacesuit, so he returned to the role of an astronaut already in the main role of “The Martian”. The plot is simple: during the expedition, the crew left biologist Mark Watney, as they believed that he did not survive the sandstorm. It’s not hard to guess that the lucky guy did survive and, with great luck, his knowledge of biology gave him a chance to last a little longer on Mars and hope to be rescued.

Ford vs Ferrari

If you like speed and are interested in learning more about the battle between the two mastodons, then the story of race engineer Ken Miles, who led Ford to victory over Ferrari, is sure to brighten the evening. In the 60’s, Henry Ford decides to challenge Ferrari, his Italian rivals, in the format of a daily race. For such a race, the perfect car has to be created, so the car designer and racer team up to create the Ford GT40 sports car.

The Last Duel

For this movie, Matt and Ben teamed up again, so the story was completely under the control of the popular bromance. The dramatic action movie shows the action in 14th century France, during the Hundred Years War. More specifically, it’s about the duel between knight Jacques Le Gris and nobleman Jean de Carrouge, who was accused of raping noblewoman Marguerite de Carrouge.

Oppenheimer

Last but not least the already iconic story about the fate of American theoretical physicist Robert Oppenheimer, who created nuclear weapons during World War II. Matt played the military Leslie Groves, who attracted the specialist to the Manhattan Project. Actually, whether they succeeded or not, see in the movie itself .
